Bluffton teen charged in robbery of pizza delivery driver
A Bluffton teenager has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly robbing a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint Saturday, according to a news release from the Bluffton Police Department.
The driver was delivering two pizzas to Centerfield Lane address he learned did not exist when he arrived. The driver was flagged down by two men at the intersection of Centerfield Lane and Ballfield Road, where a 16-year-old boy pulled out a black pistol and demanded the pizzas, the release said.
The driver handed over the pizzas to the suspect and the pair left the area, the release said.
Bluffton police interviewed the teen suspect, who admitted pulling out the pistol and taking the pizza, the release said. The teen will be charged as an adult and was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center, the release said.
Investigators are still trying to identify the second suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Matt Wilfong at 843-706-4550.
