Bluffton man charged with attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor
A Bluffton man faced six charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors Monday after he allegedly communicated with several minor victims over the Internet.
Michelangelo Carletta, 23, of Kellie Court, was charged with attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, criminal solicitation of a minor, second and third-degree counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of dissemination of obscene material to a minor, according to a news release from SC Attorney General Alan Wilson's office.
Investigators believe Carletta received explicit photos from the victims and attempted to meet one of them in person to engage in sexual activity, the release said.
He is being held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
