Hearing for second Cherol murder suspect to be held Thursday
A hearing for the second suspect in the murder of local restaurateur Johnathan Cherol will be held Thursday afternoon in Beaufort County Court.
Samuel Collins, 38, is expected in court at 2 p.m., according to a 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office news release.
He faces the charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
His wife, Colette Collins, 34, was assigned a bond of $35,000 on a murder charge in connection with Cherol's death Tuesday by Circuit Court Judge Michael Nettles.
She remains in the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The couple were charged Dec. 3 after Bluffton Police Department investigators located a shotgun they believe was used to kill Cherol, who died Oct. 28 on the back porch of his 39 Pinecrest Way home.
