Homeless man charged in Lady's Island bank break-in
A 60-year-old homeless man has been charged in connection with a break-in at a bank on Lady's Island, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect was found inside CBC National Bank on Sea Island Parkway and charged with malicious injury to property and trespassing, according to the Sheriff's Office.
While deputies initially said they were investigating a burglary and attempted safecracking just after 1 p.m., Capt. Bob Bromage later said the suspect had no intention of stealing money and did not commit any other crime.
The suspect remained at the Beaufort County Detention Center on Sunday.
