Employees robbed at gunpoint outside Okatie Zaxby's
Two employees leaving a Zaxby's in Okatie late Saturday night were robbed at gunpoint, according to a report from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
The two employees were leaving the chicken restaurant around 11:30 p.m. when two black men wearing bandanas approached them from behind the building, the report said. One pointed a handgun at the two women.
One of the employees said she panicked, dropping her purse and laying on the ground, the report said. The other employee told deputies she did not carry a purse and had nothing to give them, so the two men picked up the purse and ran off.
Deputies searched the area with dogs but were unable to find the suspects. The value of the purse and its contents was listed at $600, the report said.
