Fire damages kitchen at Old South club house in Bluffton

A fire damaged the kitchen at the Old South Golf Links club house Saturday evening, but no one was injured, according to a Bluffton Township Fire District officials news release.

Firefighters responded at about 7 p.m. Saturday and extinguished a small fire in the kitchen area of the club house at 50 Buckingham Plantation Drive in greater Bluffton, district spokesman Randy Hunter said.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire, which occurred after club house operating hours, he said.

The Bluffton Township Fire District Fire Marshall's Office is investigating the cause of the fire, Hunter said Sunday morning.
