Town of Hilton Head Fire Rescue to host pancake breakfast

The Town of Hilton Head Fire Rescue will host its annual Fire Prevention Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 4 to kick off fire prevention week.

Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at fire station four on Squire Pope Road near the back gate of Hilton Head Plantation.

This year's theme is "hear the beep where you sleep -- every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm."

The fire rescue team will teach safety demonstrations including how to use a fire extinguisher, the best way for children to call 911 and how to install smoke alarms.

The event is free and those who would like more information can call the Fire and Life Safety Education office at 843-682-5141.
