2 injured in Hardeeville shooting Sunday
Two men were injured Sunday night after several shots were fired into their car by an unidentified gunman, according to a news release from the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.
The two men were injured after several shots hit their 1994 Toyota sedan at the intersection of Levy Road and Freedom Parkway around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, the release said. Sheriff's deputies were called to the intersection soon after the shooting, but no one was found, the release said.
Deputies and Hardeeville police officers were later called out to a Whyte Hardee Boulevard address where one of the two victims had shown up with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Memorial University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, the release said. No information on the condition of the second victim was included in the release.
The two men were shot after leaving a cookout off Mitchell's Court in Hardeeville, the release said. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an incident the day before, and an investigation into the shooting is active, the release said.
