Car stolen in Florida found in long-term parking at Hilton Head Airport
A dirty car found with a long-expired parking pass at Hilton Head Airport on Friday was reported stolen in Florida in December 2014, according to a report from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy patrolling the long-term parking lot at the airport Friday morning found a Chevrolet Impala parked there with an expired Florida registration and a parking voucher issued before March 2015, the report said. When the deputy requested a check on the vehicle through the National Crime Information Center, it was found to be reported stolen in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Dec. 27, 2014, the report said.
Fort Lauderdale police were contacted about the discovery. It was towed from the lot and held for recovery by its owner or the police department, the report said.
