Man shot twice at Bluffton residence; witnesses identify possible suspect
One man is in the hospital with two gunshot wounds after he was wounded Wednesday night.
Deputies responded to Coastal Carolina Medical Center at 11:30 p.m. where they met with the man who said he was visiting a Trotting Hill Lane residence in Bluffton's Traditions at Old Carolina around 11 p.m. when he was wounded.
The victim said a male subject shot at him multiple times with a handgun, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office release.
When deputies arrived at the residence, investigators found evidence consistent with a shooting, the release said.
Witnesses told investigators the alleged suspect is a resident of the Trotting Hill home. He left immediately after the shooting happened, the release said.
The victim was transported to Savannah's Memorial University Medical Center for additional treatment.
The identity of the suspect is not available because the investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff's Office said.
No charges have been filed, the release said.
