Three charged after Bluffton Promenade road rage incident caught on camera

Two women and a man, including the alleged victim, were charged with assault and battery Wednesday after a violent Sept. 5 road-rage incident was caught on camera at the Bluffton Promenade.

The alleged victim told The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette Friday she was attacked by a man and woman who had accused her of speeding, leading to a confrontation that turned violent.

The woman said pair confronted her in a parking lot at the Promenade as she walked to a nearby restaurant for work that day. She said the pair also accused her of nearly hitting their children with her car.

The Bluffton Police Department issued charges for all three due to conflicting accounts of the incident, Maj. Joseph Manning said Thursday.

All three were given summons to appear in court in October, Manning said.

The newspaper is not naming the three because the charges are misdemeanors.
