Crews respond to structure fire on Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 93 Gum Tree Road on Saturday afternoon.
According to Christopher Osterman, Battalion Chief of Strategic Planning, the home was occupied when the fire broke out, but no one was injured.
The incident was alerted on HHI Fire Rescue’s mobile app at 2:58 p.m. Seven units responded to the incident, Osterman said.
As of 4:16 p.m., flames have been put out, but crews remain on the scene, Osterman said.
As of 5:05 p.m., Gum Tree Road is now open in both direction. Previously, crews blocked off the road between Ned Court and Katie Miller Drive.
