The owner of a six-man life raft that washed up on Hilton Head Island Saturday night has been found, according to a Facebook post from the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Charleston.

The initial post on Sunday morning asked for help in identifying the orange raft, and displayed its type and serial number. The life raft had a covered canopy, and appeared to be an emergency survival raft, rather than a recreational float.

An update to the post said the owner was located and there is no distress situation related to the raft.

The post encouraged people to report any loss of rescue equipment to the Coast Guard at their 24-hour command center at 833-453-1261 or charleston@uscg.mil.
