Police respond to unknown incident in Coligny Area on Hilton Head
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office released an alert Saturday evening warning the public to expect an increased law enforcement presence in the Coligny Beach area of Hilton Head Island.
As of 9:15 p.m., the alert says, police are present in the area. The reason behind the police response remains unclear. Calls to BCSO officials were not immediately returned Saturday evening.
The incident comes as Hilton Head Island and surrounding areas celebrate the Fourth of July with fireworks and other festivities.
