Shots fired inside Parker’s gas station in Beaufort. What we know

A suspect who allegedly fired shots inside a Parker’s gas station was safely detained after Beaufort police officers responded to the scene Wednesday, according to the Beaufort Police Department.

Officers responded to a shots fired call at 3642 Trask Parkway about 5:04 p.m. Wednesday. They were advised that multiple shots were fired inside the gas station, that the suspect remained inside and “made demands for the police to respond,” police said.

A large police presence was reported at the scene, police said Wednesday.

Officers entered the gas station and were able to safely detain the suspect, 26-year-old Tyrik Palmer. He has been charged with discharging a firearm and was booked at the Beaufort County jail yesterday. No injuries were reported from the incident, police said.
