Beaufort County deputies search for missing Daufuskie Island man
A 63 year-old Daufuskie Island resident has been reported missing after he did not return home Thursday night.
Richard A. Phelps was last seen on the island Thursday evening, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Family members reported him missing on Friday.
Deputies are actively searching for Phelps, BCSO said in a statement. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 230 pounds.
BCSO is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Phelps. Anyone with information is asked to call the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency dispatch line at 843-524-2777.
