Beaufort County residents may have issues dialing 911, police say
A Charter Communications outage reported Monday may affect some Beaufort County residents’ ability to call 911.
Charter customers experiencing these issues are encouraged to call the sheriff’s office non-emergency dispatch line at 843-524-2777, the department said in an alert around 1 p.m. Monday.
Outage reports for Spectrum, a subsidiary of Charter, showed little interruptions in the Beaufort and Hilton Head Island areas as of 1:30 p.m., according to the website Downdetector, which collates user-reported outages.
This report will be updated.
