Deadly Christmas Eve shooting takes two lives in Jasper County
Two people have died in a shooting that occurred on Christmas Eve in Jasper County.
In a statement posted to social media, police said the shooting occurred in the 900 block of Captain Bill Road in Ridgeland.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual, who was identified as a suspect, died after being transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
Deputies have identified a second suspect in the shooting, 35 year-old William Andricka Dupont, who has been arrested on murder charges. Additional charges are pending, police said in a statement.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
