Gunshot victim airlifted to hospital from Bluffton neighborhood. No arrests have been made

A Thursday night shooting in a west Bluffton neighborhood resulted in one victim being airlifted to the hospital.

No arrests have been made related to the incident, which happened around 7:15 p.m. Thursday at a home on Founders Walk in the Heritage at New Riverside community, located off S.C. 46 (May River Road).

One person was shot in the head and was airlifted to a local medical center, according to reporting from WTOC.

Bluffton Police Department spokesperson Eydie Moody declined to answer most questions about Thursday night’s shooting, including those related to the status of the gunshot victim, the circumstances behind the incident and whether a suspect had been identified by investigators.

“This incident remains an active investigation, and no further details are available,” Moody wrote in an email. “At this stage, there is no ongoing threat to the community.”
