Port Royal cops look for indecent exposure suspect after incident at car wash
Port Royal police are asking for the public to help identify a man who allegedly exposed himself to a woman at a local car wash over the weekend.
It happened around 2 p.m. Sunday at the Panache Express Car Wash, located off U.S. 21 (Parris Island Gateway) near the Food Lion in the Shell Point area. Police plan to charge the man with indecent exposure, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
The suspect, described as a Black man in his late 20s or early 30s, was sitting sideways in the front passenger seat of his red Nissan sedan. The victim, who was parked next to him in car wash’s vacuum section, told police he “exposed his private parts to her” while he sat in the car.
The suspect was seen wearing a white tank top and possibly black shorts. His red Nissan had “noticeable damage” to the front side door, according to the Port Royal Police Department.
Investigators accessed the business’ surveillance footage from that afternoon but could not identify the suspect in the video “due to poor pixelation,” according to an incident report.
In South Carolina, indecent exposure is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
