Jasper County Fire-Rescue deputy director charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor
The former Deputy Director of Jasper County Fire-Rescue was arrested Tuesday. He is being charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
On Tuesday, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested 60-year-old Darran Wayne Vaughn.
Vaughn’s residence is listed as Walterboro, SC on the Beaufort County Detention Center’s website.
Chief Russell Wells with Jasper County Fire-Rescue spoke about the department’s action in the wake of Vaughn’s arrest. The department took “immediate decisive action,” and the result was separation of employment, Wells said. As of Tuesday, his role with Jasper County Fire-Rescue was “non-existent”
Vaughn posted bail Wednesday just before noon and was released.
