A Bluffton man is accused of distributing sexually explicit files of children and could face up to 80 years of imprisonment.

Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about Donald King, 72, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which led to his arrest. The investigators are alleging King distributed files of child sexual abuse material.

King was arrested on Friday. He’s been charged with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree. Each charge could result in up to 10 years imprisonment.

King was out on bond from a separate charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, second degree, from 2023.

South Carolina Attorney General, Alan Wilson, will prosecute the case against King.
