A 16-year-old has been charged with firing shots at a fast-food restaurant in Beaufort, Beaufort police said Friday.

At 9:21 p.m. May 27, officers responded to a report of shots fired at the Burger King at 2434 Boundary St. The suspect entered the restaurant and got into an argument with an employee, and intimidated employees by displaying a gun, police said.

After leaving, the suspect turned and fired three shots at the building. Customers and staff were inside, but nobody was hit.

The 16-year-old suspect was later brought in for questioning and confessed, police said. The suspect is being petitioned to Family Court for discharging a firearm at a structure, unlawful carrying of a handgun and discharging a firearm within city limits.
