Body found Thursday morning on Hilton Head, being investigated as a homicide, police say

A body was found Thursday morning near the St. Francis Thrift Shop at 6 Southwood Park Drive on Hilton Head and the death is being investigated as a homicide, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and coroner’s office confirmed.
Darryal Grant Jr., 25, of Hilton Head, died around 1:30 a.m., Deputy Coroner Andy McNeese said. An autopsy for Grant was scheduled for Thursday.
The coroner’s office was called out to the area at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
