Hilton Head residents displaced after home damaged by fire Sunday. Here’s how to help

A Hilton Head home near the Spanish Wells Plantation was damaged in a house fire Sunday, according to officials from the American Red Cross and Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue.

Emergency crews responded to the fire on Rasta Drive just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Four people were inside the home at the time of the fire, and all evacuated without injury, according to Fire Marshal Joheida Fister, a spokesperson for Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue.

The fire resulted in “significant damage” to the home, Fister said. The American Red Cross is assisting in relocating the individuals and providing necessary resources.

Anyone wishing to assist the displaced residents can call the American Red Cross at 843-764-2323.
