Police find car of 59-year-old Hilton Head woman missing for more than a month
Police have located the car of a missing Hilton Head Island woman who was last seen over a month ago, according to an alert sent Wednesday from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Brenda Carman, 59, was reported missing on Aug. 22, and has not had contact with family members since Aug. 9, according to police. Her car, a gray 2013 Hyundai Sonata with minor front-end damage and a South Carolina license plate reading “SRE 108,” was found on Hilton Head.
Before the car was located, police believed Carman may have been traveling in it.
Carman was last seen Aug. 9 by coworkers at the island’s south-end Publix, where she worked in the deli section.
Police declined to say where they found the car or whether anything malicious is suspected at this time, according to Staff Sgt. Danny Allen, a spokesperson for the agency.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information regarding Carman’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Beaufort County Sheriff Office’s dispatch at 843-524-2777.
