Coroner identifies Bluffton teen as pedestrian killed in Jasper County crash Saturday

The pedestrian who was killed Saturday morning while on Highway 46 in Jasper County has been identified as a Bluffton teenager, according to Jasper County Coroner’s Office.

Irving Carbajal Hernandez, 17, of Bluffton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after 4 a.m., Jasper County Coroner Willie P. Aiken said. The teen was on S.C. 46 near secondary 304 when he was hit by a 2003 Ford SUV heading west, according to Master Trooper Brian Lee, a spokesperson for the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
