Police searching for man, 27, accused of stealing jewelry on Hilton Head worth $15K

Police asking people to be on the lookout for a man they accused of stealing jewelry from a home on Hilton Head Island in mid-January, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office alert.

Christopher Pittman, 27, of Hardeeville, is wanted by the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office on one count of grand larceny totaling $15,000, Maj. Bob Bromage with the Sheriff’s Office said. Police obtained a warrant for Pittman following the thefts and have been unable to find him, the alert said.

Pittman is described as a white man, 5-foot-10 and weighing approximately 160 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Grand larceny is a felony that carries 10 years in prison if the value is more than $10,000, according to the S.C. Code of Laws.
