Sheriff’s Office investigates after man was shot Tuesday in Polk Village in Beaufort

Police are looking for a suspect who shot a man Tuesday in Polk Village in Beaufort, according to an alert from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Polk Village in Beaufort around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of shots fired in the area, the alert said. When they arrived, they found a man who “sustained gunshot wounds.” The man was transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital for treatment. As of 3:56 p.m., there was no update on the man’s condition. The suspected shooter left before police arrived, the alert said.
