Man, 37, charged with attempted murder after shooting another in Beaufort, police say
A 37-year-old man was charged Tuesday in an Oct. 10 shooting that sent one person to the hospital, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Mark Wilson of Seabrook was charged with attempted murder, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a weapon in the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center jail log. Wilson was found by police Tuesday on Boundary Street, according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maj. Bob Bromage.
The shooting Oct. 10 outside a residence on Parker Drive in Beaufort followed an argument, Bromage said. The other man involved in the argument was treated for a gunshot wound at Beaufort Memorial Hospital and released, Bromage said.
If convicted of the attempted murder charge, Wilson could face up to 30 years in prison, according to the S.C. Code of Laws.
As of Wednesday morning, Wilson remained in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
