Suspected shooter from July 2 Hilton Head shooting that injured two found in Georgia

A Hardeeville man was charged Monday in a shooting that injured two over the Fourth of July weekend on Hilton Head, police say.
Nayquan Gadson, 19, of Hardeeville, was charged Monday with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature and unlawful carrying of a firearm, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center jail log.
Gadson was stopped in Port Wentworth, Georgia, on Oct. 10, according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maj. Bob Bromage, and extradited to Beaufort County Monday. He remained in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the jail log.
On July 2, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Hilton Head Gardens apartment complex on Southwood Park Drive around 10 p.m., according to previous reporting by The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette. When deputies arrived, they found a man and a woman had been shot in the parking lot. Both were transported to the Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment.
As of Wednesday, Gadson is the only person charged in the shooting, Bromage said.
