Port Royal man, 23, found dead after shooting in Bluffton late Friday, deputies say
A 23-year-old Port Royal man was found dead near Bluffton Road late Friday after a shooting was reported in a moving company’s parking lot, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to All My Sons Moving & Storage, 102 Bluffton Road, at about 11:30 p.m. Friday to investigate a report of multiple gun shots fired in the parking lot, according to a news release and Maj. Bob Bromage, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.
Marlon Lyons Jr., of Port Royal, was discovered at the scene. He was pronounced dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the news release.
A forensic autopsy will be conducted at the Medical University of South Carolina this week to confirm Lyons’ cause of death, deputies said.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit and investigators interviewed witnesses overnight, the news release said.
No arrests had been made as of about noon Saturday.
