One man injured in Friday morning shooting on Hilton Head, police say

A shooting at Hilton Head Gardens left one person injured and several people on the run, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened at 12:30 a.m. Friday at the apartment complex. When deputies arrived, several people were leaving the scene and have not been located, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told sheriff’s deputies he was shot and he was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. As of Friday afternoon, he was still hospitalized and in stable condition, the Sheriff’s Office said.
