Series of car break-ins in Hilton Head neighborhood being investigated by police

Deputies are investigating a rash of car break-ins in Palmetto Hall that they believe are connected.

Three cars were broken into from Sunday night until Monday morning on three neighboring streets, according to reports from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. All of the vehicles were unlocked, the report said.

Items stolen included a pair of Air Pod Pros, a tennis racket, two wallets, $70 in cash, credit cards, and a S.C. Driver’s License, the reports said.

One car was rummaged through but nothing was stolen, it said.

“We urge people to lock their vehicles because the vast majority of incidents occur with unlocked vehicles,” said Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Bob Bromage.
