Ridgeland man charged with 7 counts of attempted murder after Bluffton shooting

Police charged a Ridgeland man Wednesday with attempted murder in a Bluffton shooting earlier this month, according to authorities.

Joshua Fields, 24, was charged with seven counts of attempted murder. Bluffton Police said he shot someone five times and that two shots hit a nearby home in Old Town Bluffton on March 14, according to the police report.

The report says Fields came from a nearby party on Brendan Lane, where he shot at a man involved in a domestic dispute with a woman happening outside, a few houses down the street.

Near midnight, police said, Fields shot the man five times in the leg and buttocks. As he was being fired upon, the man fled into a home on Quinn Court.

Police say Fields kept shooting the residence after the man got through the door. Fields returned to the direction of the party after the shooting, according to the report.

Joshua Fields, 24, of Ridgeland was arrested and charged with seven counts of attempted murder Wednesday March 25 by Bluffton Police for a March 14 shooting in Old Town Bluffton.
