Woman’s ex-girlfriend stabbed her multiple times at Beaufort boat landing, report says
A woman told police her ex-girlfriend stabbed her multiple times when the two met to get closure from their recent breakup, a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report says.
Deputies learned of the assault from Beaufort Memorial Hospital staff after the woman arrived with what appeared to be stab wounds on Feb. 4.
The victim refused to let police search her vehicle and didn’t want to press charges, the report says.
Maj. Bob Bromage said Monday the stabbing remains under investigation. He was unable to provide any further details.
The victim told police some details about the stabbing. She said her ex-girlfriend took out a knife with about a 4-inch blade while the two were sitting in a vehicle, the report says. The ex-girlfriend then stabbed the victim in the right abdominal area, the report says.
In an attempt to escape, the woman told police she left the vehicle.
She fell, and the ex-girlfriend stabbed her on the back of the right leg, the report says. She was able to escape at this point, she told police.
The victim refused to cooperate any further with the investigation, the report says.
Deputies noted the victim appeared to have “two injuries consistent with being cut or stabbed with a cutting instrument.”
Another small injury was on the victim’s shoulder, the report says. The injury was a possible third puncture wound.
The woman’s current girlfriend showed police the scene where the incident happened, the report says.
Police were not able to locate blood at that location, the report says.
