Traffic alert: Okatie Highway lane reopens, no injuries in Wednesday crash

A crash at the intersection of S.C. 170 and U.S. 278 in Okatie has been cleared after causing traffic delays and a lane closure Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The right westbound lane of S.C. 170 was closed for more than an hour, backing up traffic to Riverwalk Boulevard.

Emergency crews were on scene at 8:30 a.m. working to clear the crash from the road, according to the release.

Google Maps showed a 21-minute delay in the area just after the crash.

Traffic cameras showed two vehicles involved in the crash.

There were no injuries associated with the crash, according to Maj. Bob Bromage with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
