Bluffton man charged with rape of toddler, records show

Beaufort County Detention Center

David James Allison, 30, of Bluffton was charged Monday with the rape of a minor, according to jail and police records.

He remained at Beaufort County Detention Center Tuesday afternoon on one charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a minor, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maj. Bob Bromage said.

The victim was a toddler, Bromage said. Bond had not been set as of Tuesday afternoon.

Allison’s wife contacted the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office after she discovered messages on the iPad she shared with her husband, the police report said. The description of the messages was redacted from the report.

“The investigation is ongoing, and additional criminal charges are being evaluated,” Bromage said.
