Richard Joseph Frantel, 49, a Canada resident, was killed in the crash, Hampton County Coroner Angie Topper said Monday.
Wreckers were on scene about 5 p.m. for the three-vehicle crash that involved a U-Haul, Garnes said. He said police also were responding to a second vehicle crash near mile-marker 37 southbound.
Google maps showed traffic significantly backed up on southbound I-95 and U.S. 17 about 5 p.m. Sunday.
