Woman convicted of stealing $160,000 from Hilton Head business, officials say
A former Bluffton woman was convicted Wednesday of stealing more than $160,000 from a Hilton Head business, according to the 14th District Solicitor’s Office.
Darla Juda Campbell, 61, plead guilty to breach of trust with fraudulent intent in General Sessions court at the Beaufort County Courthouse.
She spent the money she stole while working at K&K Plumbing on diet plans, office expenses for her personal coaching business, an online TV streaming service and more.
“Campbell stole her employer’s money multiple times and used his money as if it were her own,” said Francine Norz, who prosecuted the case.
The thefts happened between 2012 and 2017.
Campbell failed to appear for a December 2018 sentencing hearing. She was later found in North Fort Myers, Fla.
