The Lady’s Island/St. Helena Fire District responded to the blaze, according to fire official Scott Harris.

“This is going to be a long process,” Harris said via text Sunday night.

A property listing on the Zillow website says the 7,800-square-foot home was built in 1929.

The website says the home on the Beaufort River was listed for sale in June for $1.7 million.
