A late night drive home on Hilton Head turns dangerous, police report says

A Hilton Head man who was shot at three times while he was driving home Saturday escaped without a scratch, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The victim was driving on home about 11 p.m. on Dillon Road near William Hilton Parkway when a white sedan with South Carolina plates suddenly passed him and stopped in front of him, the report said. The victim tried to drive around the car and as he passed, he saw and heard a front seat passenger begin firing at him. The report said the victim heard three shots in succession.

The car then sped away. The victim drove to his friend’s house before calling law enforcement the next day, the report said.

Deputies found three bullet holes in the victim’s car, the report said.
