Bluffton woman kicks in daughter’s door, assaults husband and son, police say
A Bluffton woman was charged with second degree domestic violence Saturday after she kicked her daughter’s door in and assaulted her husband and son, according to a Bluffton Police Department report.
When officers arrived, the suspect came outside to continue yelling at her son and husband, the report said. She lunged at one of the men and struck him several times. The report said that as the officer tried to pull the suspect away, all three of them fell to the ground.
Officers interviewed the victims after the woman was handcuffed, the report said. The husband said his wife had been drinking all afternoon and began yelling at him when he went to bed, the report said. She hit him “a few times” before knocking dishes off the kitchen counter and kicking her daughter’s door in, the report said.
The suspect had called her son and asked him to pick up her grandchildren because she and her husband were fighting, the report said. She struck her son several times in the chest after he suggested she spend the night somewhere else.
She was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center at 4:45 a.m. and released later that morning, according to the jail log.
