A 10-year-old boy admitted Monday to bringing a 9mm bullet to the Boys and Girls Club on H.E. McCracken Circle, according to a Bluffton Police Department report.

The cleaning crew found the bullet Friday in a classroom, the report said.

The boy told police he had found the bullet on a counter at home and brought it to school, the report said. The boy’s mother, who was at the Boys and Girls Club when officers arrived, said she found the bullet in her husband’s clothes when she was washing them and laid it on the counter.

No charges were filled though the boy’s mother told police there would be consequences for the child once she got him home.
