One man shot near Hardeeville railroad tracks, Sheriff’s Office investigating
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has asked the community to avoid an area in Hardeeville as they investigate a shooting incident, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
The shooting happened on Church Road, according to the release. Law enforcement asks citizens to avoid the area between US 321 and the railroad tracks, near Whyte Hardee Boulevard.
One man had what appeared to two gunshot wounds and was taken to the Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Jasper County Sheriff Chris Malphrus said around 7:15 p.m. No further information was immediately available and deputies were still on scene investigating.
The Sheriff’s Office said there is no threat to public safety.
