A woman told police that she returned from running errands Thursday to find a window open in her hotel room at the NEXThome Extended Stay & Suites — formerly Suburban Extended Stay Hilton Head.

Upon investigation she realized a lock-box in the room also was open, a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report states.

Nine prescription drug bottles — kept in the lock box — and a computer were missing from the room, according to the report.

Yet, one thing was found in the room that wasn’t there before — a wallet discovered below the open window.

A South Carolina issued driver’s license was found in the wallet, the report states. The woman said she did recognize the name or photo on the license.

Deputies collected DNA swabs from the room. They also tried but failed to contact the owner of the driver’s license.
