Here’s the latest on the pedestrian struck Thursday in a Bluffton crosswalk

No charges or citations have been issued by the S.C. Highway Patrol after an adult male was struck by a vehicle in Bluffton on Thursday morning.

The victim was struck around 9:40 a.m. on Malphrus Road near Lowes, according to Capt. Bob Broamge of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was hit by a 2018 Toyota Camry that was turning left off Bluffton Parkway onto Malphrus Road, according to Lance Cpl. Matthew Southern of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Southern said the victim was in a crosswalk at the time of the collision and that no charges or citations had been filed as of Friday afternoon.

No information on the man’s condition has been released. However, he was taken from the scene by ambulance to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
