An ex-employee of Circle K convenience store on Hilton Head Island came into the business wanting to buy cigarettes on Friday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The clerk working refused to sell the cigarettes to the ex-employee since the manager has said the woman isn’t allowed on the property. The former employee refused to leave when asked and became verbally aggressive, the report states.

The manager was called on speaker phone and also asked the woman to leave.

The report states the ex-employee refused to leave and became more angry saying, “Something bad is going to happen to you, your mom and your sister.”

At this time the ex-employee reached over the counter and struck the clerk in the chest, according to the report. She then left the store in her Mercedes.

The former employee then called the store and again said, “Something bad is going to happen to you.”

Deputies at the scene watched video footage of the former employee striking the clerk while on scene. They started the process for obtaining a warrant for the employee, the report states.
