Feud between at Bluffton business ends with gun drawn and assualt charges, police say

An argument at a Bluffton business started between two of the owners when one attempted to talk to the other about missing deadlines, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.

The accused owner responded by charging the other owner while he sat in a chair, the report states. He then pushed the man against the wall, strangled him and kneed him in the eye before an employee of the company separated the two.

The employee tried to hold the accused owner back as he repeatidly tried to charge, the report states. The other owner pulled out a permited Glock 43 in fear for his safety, he told police.

He said the gun was held in the downright position during the entire exchange.

The report states, “He told (the accused owner) if he kept trying to assualt him, he would have to pull the trigger because he felt threatened.”

The accused owenr left the property but returned while police were on site, the report states.

The man was arrested for third degree assualt, according to the report.
