Thieves smashed vehicles’ windows at this Hilton Head resort; took $1,600 in tools
Over $1,600 in tools were stolen from a Hilton Head resort sometime between Dec. 7 and Friday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
A deputy was called to Coral Sands Resort on Pope Avenue Friday after maintenance workers discovered the tools had been stolen from four vans sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 7 through 9 a.m. Friday.
The vans had broken rear windows and had been left locked for the evening, the report said.
Included in the stolen items were a tool bag, screwdrivers, a saw, utility knives, pliers, cable cutters and drills.
A deputy took DNA swabs from the scene. No video surveillance was in the area of the theft.
